Protein-Packed Strawberry Oatmeal

Just about everyone loves that delicious pre-packaged "strawberries and cream" oatmeal from Quaker Oats, BUT did you know it's packed with sugar? 12 grams for ONE small packet. And who can get full from just one? :)

Here's a healthy way to get the same taste without the sugar and with lots of protein. This picture to the right was my yummy breakfast this morning. Here's how to make it:
Cook 1/2 cup oats with 1/2 cup water, stir in 1 scoop strawberry flavored protein (I use Muscle Milk), 1/2 packet of Stevia (or other natural sweetener), 1 Tablespoon Flaxseed or nuts, a few strawberries or banana slices and then top with a dash or unsweetened soy milk or regular milk.

I actually like this better than Quaker :). It's more more filling, satisfying, energizing and of course... real strawberries beat out those dehydrated little flakes :) Ha.

To mix things up, try different flavors of protein powder... I use chocolate, cake batter, vanilla, banana, etc....
