I know I've already expressed my love for hamstring exercises, so I'll spare you the sappy story this time ;-) but I just had to share this awesome hammy burner!! You can seriously do this just about anywhere that has a ledge/hookie thing - very proper naming, I know! t
*In the pic below, I'm using the running board on my 4-Runner ... it's all about thinking outside the box. I often use the bottom of my couch to hook my feet under or you can have someone sit on your heels or use a bench with knee pads at the gym... just hook your feet and get workin'!!
This exercise is similar to the "glute-ham" machine you see at the gym. It's a VERY small motion, but super intense. Be sure to keep your back very straight!!
Place your heels under your holder (whatever you are using to stabilize). Sit up on your knees, lean straight forward toward the ground. Go as far as you can without bending your back forward. Then, pull back to the start position by engaging you hamstrings. You'll also feel a burn in you calves.
Another adaptation is to put your elbows on a large medicine ball. Use the ball as a guide to roll forward and pull back.
