Eat This & Be Fit... Really!

Grilled cheese & french toast are typically two no-no foods for those on a "diet"... but I've combined the two guilty pleasures and created a surprisingly healthy and absolutely decadent meal. Introducing, the figure friendly french toast grilled cheese!!

This recipe is so good and healthy that Oxygen Magazine featured it (and me ;-)) in their recipe section.


What you need:
2 slices whole grain & seed bread (look for 75-100 cal per slice)
1 egg
1 string cheese
pepper
optional: 1 slice nitrate-free turkey bacon

How to: 
Mix egg & pepper in a bowl
Soak bread egg & grill on greased skillet
Shred string cheese & place between the 2 french toast slices
Turn skillet on low, place sandwich on skillet & cover to allow cheese to melt. Flip to avoid burning.

Nutrition breakdown:
305-355 calories (depending on bread)
22g protein thanks to the egg, seed bread & cheese
11g fat from egg, cheese & seed bread (seeds/nuts=healthy fats)
